Alicia Metcalfe (Natalie Anderson) is to put herself in danger over the coming weeks when she takes action over the behaviour of Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson).
Worried that Lachlan has a new girlfriend, Alicia – who was sexually assaulted by the troubled teen earlier this year – decides to take matters into her own hands.
Show bosses are remaining tight-lipped as to what it is that Alicia does, but her actions are set to take their toll on Lachlan is set upon by a group of lads.
After confessing what she’s done to a shocked David, Alicia finds Lachlan just as he’s being surrounded by the gang. Realising that what’s happening is down to her, Alicia gives safe refuge to Lachlan in the car – but ends up trapped inside the vehicle as the lads pelt it with stones.
Speaking recently about the plotline, producer Kate Oates revealed that Lachlan will ultimately show contrition for what he did, but hinted that Alicia may not find it easy to move on from her trauma.
Said the show boss: “The story isn’t quite over yet because one thing Lachlan hasn’t done is show true remorse. That is what’s really going to get to Alicia.
“The courts have had their say and the police have had their say. But what’s really important to her is that he looks her in the eye and says that he’s genuinely sorry for what he did.
“We’re going to tell another chapter of that story, where there’s a journey towards Lachlan actually having to face what he did and the realities of that. When he does that, it gives Alicia a chance to move on. But where are she and David actually going to move to?”
