EastEnders spoilers: Nick Cotton and Ronnie Mitchell to go head to head, promises John Altman

"You can expect to see a few fireworks going off long after Bonfire Night," says the actor

EastEnders actor John Altman has revealed that there will be rivalry between his character Nick Cotton and the icy Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack). Expressing his views on the upcoming clash, Altman said:

“That was a surprise to me. Ronnie has already bumped somebody off, hasn’t she? The score right now is three kills for Nick and one for Ronnie! Those two characters will definitely be going head-to-head.”

Altman’s comments support what executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said recently about what’s in store once Nick re-enters the lives of the Albert Square residents. “It’s going to be very fresh this time because you’ve got Charlie, Yvonne and Ronnie involved in that story now,” commented the show boss. “Ronnie Mitchell is carrying Dot’s great-grandson and a big teaser is… watch out for Ronnie versus Nick.”

Now, in an interview with Digital Spy, Altman has said that the reason for Nick’s loathing of Ronnie is down to the fact that she’s a Mitchell: “Nick isn’t best pleased that Ronnie and Charlie are together because she’s a Mitchell. He’s never liked the Mitchells – particularly Phil. Anything to do with the Mitchells, Nick does not like, so you can expect to see a few fireworks going off long after Bonfire Night!”
