EastEnders spoilers: Kat sees her facial burns for the first time – brand-new pictures released

Alfie and Stacey offer support as Kat glimpses her injuries once her dressing is removed

Over a week on from being caught in the fire that almost killed her, a brave Kat (Jessie Wallace) is to remove the dressing from her face and look at her injuries for the first time. In scenes to be shown this evening (BBC1, 7.30pm), a worried Alfie (Shane Richie) and Stacey (Lacey Turner) will both offer their support, worried about how Kat will react.

Speaking recently about the plotline, Richie said: “Without giving too much away, it really is life changing for Jessie’s character. And for her to play the storyline we’ve got coming up after this event is brilliant for an actress.”

In an interview with This Morning, the actor added: “It’ll be such a departure from the Kat we know now – the tart with the heart and the heavy make-up. She will become the complete opposite to that and it’s heartbreaking. What happens leads up to Christmas and, of course, the 30th anniversary in February next year.”
