Sherlock’s official convention Sherlocked has been postponed from 2014 until 2015, its organisers have confirmed.
The three day event was initially meant to take place in late 2014, but has now been moved until “the first part” of year as, “there is not time to put together the scale of event,” and because of limited availability of guests.
In a Facebook post, the organisers of the event said: “I want everyone to know we are still working very hard on a date that works for as many of the main cast of the show to attend as possible! This has been one of the hardest tasks we have ever had to deal with and we now understand how difficult it must be to film the actual tv show as so many of the main cast are incredibly busy and popular! We just wanted to let you all know that we really do care and we want to deliver the most incredible event we can and that is why things are taking a bit more time that we originally anticipated.”
Sherlocked was announced in February this year, and is billed as featuring “activities, star guests from the cast and crew, talks, photo shoots, autograph sessions and more.”
It is being organised by Massive Events with the Sherlock production team at Hartswood Films and Showmasters Ltd, the team behind London Film & Comic Con, with plans also mooted for the event to take place in Europe and in the USA.
At the time, Sherlock‘s producer Sue Vertue said: “We’re very excited to be announcing our first official Sherlock convention for later in the year, aptly named Sherlocked. Massive Events have been pestering me for ages to get a date for this in the schedule but we wanted to make sure that we had the time and energy to make it a great, high quality and fun event, and now we have! Watch this space.”
