Nicole Scherzinger to turn Pussycat again in Cats stage revival?

The former X Factor judge and Pussycat Doll is reportedly in "early talks" to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical

Having lost her judge’s chair on the X-Factor, former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger could be returning to her feline roots to take on a role in stage musical Cats.

Nicole is in “early talks” to play the part of Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical when it opens at the London Palladium in December, according to Mail Online, with a source saying “Nicole would be perfect for Grizabella,” and “there’s a desire on both sides for this to work”, while admitting that negotiations are at “such an early and delicate stage that it could all be a pipe dream by Sunday”.

Grizabella is known as “the glamour cat” in the show (not much of a stretch for Nicole, then) and sings the iconic song Memory made famous by Elaine Paige.

The good Lord is known to have been a long admirer of Nicole, who studied musical theatre at university and appeared in an ITV tribute show to the composer last year, when she sang Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from Evita.

Cats opens at the London Palladium on 6th December following its current UK tour, having already taken around £2 million in advance ticket sales.
