Beckham’s best cameos

David Beckham’s trip to Peckham in Only Fools and Horses Sport Relief sketch isn’t the first time old Golden Balls has popped up on TV and film

Former footballer David Beckham is to star alongside Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst in a reboot of Only Fools and Horses for this year’s Sport Relief.

But Becks isn’t new to Sport Relief, or the screen, popping up in various shows and films over the years…

Rather fittingly for the famous former footballer, Beckham played himself in the 2005 football-themed film Goal! His role? To appear as David Beckham and talk about football. Peachy, really.

Goal II

Yep, Becks was back for Goal II… and later Goal III. But you get the idea.

Sesame Street

In 2008 Becks dropped by Seasame Street for a chat with Elmo. The sportsman was among a host of stars, including Jack Black, Jessica Alba and Heidi Klum who helped launch the 39th season of the show.

Red Nose Day with Smithy

In 2009 Beckham joined the England squad in a sketch with Gavin and Stacey star James Corden. Becks and co find their meeting interrupted (they were playing hangman) as Smithy takes a break from plumbing to yell at them for their poor performances.

Take Two with Phineas and Ferb

Back on the children’s television scene in 2011, Beckham headed over to the Disney Channel for an interview with cartoon characters Phineas and Ferb.

Becks ate a bug, fed himself a banana with his foot and showed off a few football skills. Well, he’s game for a laugh, eh?

Sport Relief with James Corden

Becks jumped two feet into the world of comedy for another sketch with actor Corden in 2012. From bathing together to crying over Scott and Charlene’s wedding in Neighbours Becks proved he can certainly keep a straight face.

NFL promo with Rob Riggle

On an acting roll, Beckham also popped up in NFL promo clip with Fox’s Rob Riggle. A disgruntled footballer who finds his house overrun with party guests, Becks boots a football at the runaway rogue…
