Six celebrities are set to don sparkles, sequins and a lot of fake tan to take a turn beneath the Strictly glitter ball this Christmas.
The Saturday’s Rochelle Humes, Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox, actress Elaine Page, EastEnders’ actor Ricky Norwood, singer Matt Goss and actor Rufus Hound are all set to put on their dancing shoes and compete to be the winner of the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.
Hosts Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly and judges Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli will be in attendance. As will six Strictly professionals who will be paired with the Christmas contestants as follows: Ian Waite and Rochelle Humes, Robin Windsor and Sara Cox, Pasha Kovalev and Elaine Paige, Aliona Vilani and Matt Goss, Janette Manrara and Ricky Norwood, and Flavia Cacace and Rufus Hound.
How the celebrities will fare with the footwork remains to be seen… Sara, Elaine and Matt are certain to have an ear for music and good rhythm while Rochelle has dabbled in dancing with her girl band The Saturdays. But will Ricky’s role on the streets of Albert Square have readied him for a turn around the dance floor?
One celebrity we can’t wait to watch is Rufus Hound. Do you remember his spectacular performance as Cheryl Cole in 2010’s Let’s Dance for Comic Relief? If he can replicate anything like this, it’s going to be a good Christmas…
Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will be on Christmas Day on BBC1.
Strictly Come Dancing series 11 continues on Saturday at 7:00pm on BBC1.
