Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Deborah Meaden waltzes out of the competition

The Dragons Den star has danced her way out of the competition in the fifth week

Dragons Den star Deborah Meaden has become the 4th person to leave Strictly Come Dancing.

Deborah and her professional partner Robin found themselves facing Casualty actor Patrick Robinson in the bottom two this week, after dancing a Viennese waltz to It’s a Man’s World on Saturday’s live show.

Of her departure Deborah said: “Strictly gave me a gift, but the big gift it gave me was this guy [Robin]. To teach me to dance, to find something that I never even knew I could do and to make it the best…”

“There’s going to be tears…” she continued, before adding, “No, I’m a Dragon. There’ll be no tears!”

Deborah had acheived 27 points and a standing ovation for her Vienesse waltz.

Hairy Biker Dave Myers and Countdown’s Rachel Riley, who found themselves at the bottom of the leader board this week, were both saved from the dreaded dance off by the voting public despite getting 17 and 22 points respectively for their dances on Saturday night.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC1.
