The X Factor 2011: voting opens to decide Frankie Cocozza’s replacement

Amelia Lily, Jonjo Kerr, 2 Shoes and James Michael compete in charity phone vote

Lines have opened in the vote to reinstate a rejected X Factor contestant. One of the four hopefuls who were eliminated by their respective mentors in the first live show of the year – and have therefore never faced a public vote – will return to the competition on Saturday night to replace Frankie Cocozza, who left the contest on Tuesday.

The reprieved act will be whoever of 2 Shoes, Amelia Lily, James Michael and Jonjo Kerr polls the most public votes. Voting is by telephone only. All profits, at least 22p per call, will be donated to the charity Help for Heroes.

The winner is to sing live on Saturday night – where the theme is songs by Queen and Lady Gaga – alongside the six remaining acts left in the competition. Each of the potentially returning acts will prepare a song, but only one will get the chance to perform it.

You can vote for your favourite using the following numbers:

0901 616 1301 – 2 SHOES
0901 616 1302 – AMELIA LILY
0901 616 1303 – JAMES MICHAEL
0901 616 1304 – JONJO KERR

Phone lines close during Saturday’s X Factor on ITV1 on 12 November.
