Emmerdale have revealed Robert Sugden was behind this week’s targeting of the White clan, and he didn’t act alone, having teamed up with Chrissie’s uncle Tim Richards to destroy Lawrence and rest of the Home Farm family.
Rebecca had been spooked by an arson attack and break-in at the big house following the revelation that Lawrence had driven Chrissie’s biological father, John Richards, to suicide by framing him for a crime he didn’t commit.
Larry is now recovering in hospital from a brain aneurysm brought on by the drama, while Chrissie has rejected the man who brought her up and turned her back on the family firm.
Playing the knight in shining armour to floundering Rebecca as she desperately tried to keep Home Farm afloat in the face of online abuse badmouthing the business, Robert stepped in to lend a hand – but later during a clandestine meeting at the Whites’ residence it was revealed the boys had been in league these last few days.
Telling his co-conspirator it had gone too far, guilt-ridden Tim panicked as Robert threatened to tell the police about their terrorising and tried to pay him off to disappear. Regretting getting involved with rascal Rob, Tim turned and rejected the cash, accusing the slippery Sugden of being as bad as the rest of them…
Next week, Robert gets his feet well and truly under the table at Home Farm and starts drugging Lawrence when he comes home from hospital. But there are shocking consequences when he inadvertently causes a crash putting several villagers’ lives in danger…
