Lisa Faulkner arrives on EastEnders tonight as businesswoman Fi Browning but her first appearance in the Queen doesn’t exactly go to plan.
Most Albert Square residents tend to go to the Walford boozer to enjoy a drink, not to wear one. But Fi looks set to get a surprise this evening when she walks into the Vic, only to get accidentally soaked by Shirley, who’s spraying a celebratory bottle of champagne following the sale of the freehold. But why has Fi arrived in town and what is she up to?
Speaking recently about how she landed the role on EastEnders, Faulkner said: “The producers phoned up and said asked if I go and meet them. And I met Sean [O’Connor, executive producer] and Julia Crampsie the casting director and he just sold this character to me.
“He was very good at pitching this great character and show and I just came back thinking, ‘hmm, let’s just see what happens’. And then they phoned and asked if I’d do it and I thought, ‘why not? What’s the worst that could happen?'”
Well, getting doused in champagne for starters, obviously…
