Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley has predicted that Cain and Charity’s reconciliation on next week’s episodes will be short lived.
“They’re always going to be doomed. I don’t think they’re ever going to have a long-term relationship,” says the actor. “They have have this bond, which is Debbie. And ultimately, they were each other’s first love. But passion and history is always a recipe for disaster.”
An upcoming storyline will see Cain tempted back into Charity’s arms after she flirts with bad boy Ross in order to make him jealous.
“Cain’s feelings are very mixed up,” admits Hordley. “There are always mixed feelings and emotions when it comes to Charity. But when Cain realises that Moira doesn’t want him back, he thinks that he may as well be with Charity. In his heart, its the right thing to do.
Word will soon get around the village that Cain and Charity are an item, all of which seems to stymie the prospect of him and Moira ever getting back together. But Hordley has hopes of of further romantic complications down the line:
“The Emmerdale writers have timed this story correctly. They’ve written for Cain and Moira so well, that now we have Charity involved, it feels like a really well-pitched love triangle. If Moira would have said yes to Cain, he’d lean more towards her. But there’s always this thing between Cain and Charity. I think that there’s is an on-off relationship that will always exist.”
