Emmerdale star Pasha Bocarie has revealed more about the soap’s big summer stunt that is set to involve his character Rakesh as well as Priya, Lawrence and Nicola.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com on the red carpet at this year’s British Soap Awards, Bocarie said: “I’ve always wanted to do some action stuff. And now I get to do it. What we’ve done is impressive and you’re going to be surprised. People’s lives are in danger, let’s put it like that.”
Lawyer Rakesh looks set to be at the centre of upcoming events as financial pressures start to spiral, leaving him desperate to find a solution.
Added Bocarie: “The build-up is interesting, the actual episode is exciting and the aftermath is good too. I think it’ll be involving for the audience.
“As an actor, you wait your whole life for a moment like this. When you get it, you have to make sure that you’re ready, prepared and giving 110 per cent. I’m really happy that it’s come. It’s amazing.”
Earlier this month, Emmerdale writer Sharon Marshall teased the scale of what the ITV has planned: “Emmerdale actually found an unused tank factory from the Cold War, replicated the set, built it up – just so they could blow it up without anyone seeing it. I can say that one of the villagers puts other people in danger.”
The British Soap Awards are on ITV tonight at 8pm
