I’m partnering Kellie Bright in the Strictly Come Dancing final, jokes EastEnders star Danny Dyer

How would this be for a dream performance on Saturday night – Danny Dyer doing a show dance with Strictly Come Dancing star Kellie Bright?

It would be TV Gold and Dyer himself has raised the possibility of it happening when asked about how he felt seeing his EastEnders co-star making it through to the grand final of the BBC1 dance show.

“Kevin Clifton has had to pull out so I’m having to be her partner. So, I don’t fancy her chances,” he joked.

Bright will compete this weekend against Georgia May Foote, Jay McGuiness and Katie Derham for the chance to lift the glitterball trophy. And Dyer – who plays Mick Carter on the BBC1 soap opposite Bright’s Linda Carter – was quick to offer his support:

“We’re all so proud of her. I don’t know she’s been able to juggle both EastEnders and Strictly, to be honest. And she’s got into the final on merit. She’s been a bit ratty on a few days in work, but I don’t blame her. I’d be ratty!

“But Kellie Bright is a beautiful human being. On EastEnders, I’m part of a double act. Without her, Mick doesn’t work. So I’m really rooting for her.”

EastEnders’s executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins added: “Kellie was even rehearsing for Strictly out in the garden on the day that Linda is set to marry Mick. Now, when someone is getting married on EastEnders, that’s their full focus. But to do both is insane.”
