Like many of his fellow Aussie actors in Hollywood, Chris Hemsworth got his first big break in soapland. The Thor star appeared in Home and Away between 2004-2007, playing life guard and personal trainer Kim Hyde before departing for American shores where he found global superstardom playing superhero Thor in the Avengers films.
But while many A-listers from Down Under try to sweep their soap star roots under the carpet, Chris is so attached to the programme that gave him his first taste of fame that on a recent trip back to Australia, he filmed a brief cameo appearance.
At first glance, the shot above shows actresses Cassie Howarth, Jess Grace Smith and Isabella Gionvinazzo sitting down for a bite to eat in the soap’s famous Summer Bay Diner, but take a closer look and you’ll spot a familiar face enjoying a burger and milkshake in the background.
Set to air in Australia on Tuesday night, the episode was filmed late last year when Hemsworth paid a visit to the set to see some of his former co-stars – and stopped for a snap with actress Jess Grace Smith:

Hemsworth – brother of actor siblings Liam and Luke – can currently be seen in The Avengers: Age of Ultron which was released in cinemas earlier this month. He’s currently filming The Huntsman, follow-up to the 2012 fantasy film which he starred in opposite Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.
