We’ve been picking up teasers and scraps of what we can expect from dinosaur franchise reboot Jurassic World, but now we’ve finally got to see a few clips from it (set to some of John William’s peerless score) – and we’re pretty excited. IT’S COMING.
Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and directed by Colin Morrow, Jurassic World returns to Isla Nubar, the setting for Steven Spielberg’s first 1993 Jurassic Park film where an attempt to create a theme park full of dinosaurs went awry. Now it would seem the park is open and fully operational – but we can’t imagine it’ll stay safe for long.
Though only twenty seconds long (and acting largely to promote the full trailer arriving on Thursday), the clip gives us a look at how the park has evolved over the last few years including London-eye style visiting pods and more advanced behind-the-scenes tech.
We also get a peek at Bryce Dallas Howard’s character Claire, who looks slightly perturbed (could a park full of vicious dinosaurs somehow have a downside?) and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt, wearing the hell out of a leather waistcoat as Velociraptor handler Owen.
But best of all, we get a glimpse of the franchise’s real stars – some friendly dinosaurs. Aw, aren’t they sweet? They could never hurt anybody, right?
Oh, yeah. Keep your arms, legs, and entire body inside the cars at all times…
