Benedict Cumberbatch is a man of many talents – but it appears they don’t extend to the pronunciation of a particular word.
One eagle-eared fan noticed that the Sherlock star struggled to get his resonant voice around the word “penguins” in a voiceover for a 2009 BBC nature documentary. The results, above, are sort of adorable.
It’s lucky that Benedict doesn’t have to deal with penguin-related content in his professional life very often – well, except in promoting his latest film, the unfortunately titled Penguins of Madagascar.
The vocal coaches must have had their work cut out for them on that one…
Penguins of Madagascar is released in the UK on 5 December
