Name: Fiona Fullerton
Famous for: actress and former Bond Girl
“I was looking for a challenge and an adventure, and swapping my wellington boots from living in the country for a whole load of sequins is very appealing.”
Bio: The Nigerian-born British actress is probably best known as Bond girl Pola Ivanova, a Soviet agent who shared a steamy bubble bath – among other things – with Roger Moore’s 007 in 1985 outing A View to a Kill.
Aged 15, Fiona played the title role in the 1972 film version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and ten years later took to the stage to star as Guinevere in musical Camelot.
In 1976, Fiona married actor Simon MacCorkindale (perhaps better know to children of the 80s as Manimal) but the pair split five years later.
Fiona is hoping to land a professional dance partner who is “strong, gorgeous and patient, because I can be extremely trying sometimes” but admits she thinks “they are all lovely”.
Fiona will be hoping to emulate her Strictly heroine Kara Tointon, who she says “had such grace” and was “one of the loveliest contestants”.
