Max Irons shooting new film Posh in Oxford

The White Queen star is filming a UK-based movie about decadent, over-indulgent, elite students

Max Irons (The White Queen, Red Riding Hood) was seen filming Posh, directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, One Day), in Oxford’s Magpie Lane and Merton Lane yesterday.

Based on the play by Laura Wade, the film follows two freshers at Oxford University who join a dining club named the ‘Riot Club’, inspired by the Oxford University’s Bullingdon Club attended by Prime Minister David Cameron, London Mayor Boris Johnson and Chancellor George Osborne.

In the play, the debauched group encounters excessive drinking, prostitution and leaves a trail of “glorious destruction” in their wake.

Oxford University spokesman Matt Pickles said: “We hope prospective parents, students and teachers who watch the film will realise that the Bullingdon Club stereotype does not reflect the vast majority of Oxford students.”

Posh is set for release in 2014.
