Heston Blumenthal’s current obsession with supersizing favourite foods is continuing into the festive season, as the experimental chef creates a giant Christmas pudding to feed a group of Yuletide-deficient workers.
A ton of flour, 600kg of raisins and 45 litres of booze were combined in a cement mixing lorry to create the three-metre-high pudding which was then lit with a flame thrower.
Heston’s Fantastical Christmas – airing on Channel 4 on 19 December – also sees the chef swapping traditional turkey for pigs head and creating snowy cocktails and edible christmas decorations, including baubels, tinsel and fairy lights.
Heston’s Fantastical Christmas is on Wednesday 19 December at 9pm on Channel 4
