EastEnders: Lee Ryan teases Woody and Mick showdown – and hints at his own exit

"We've got some great scenes," says Walford's newest star

EastEnders star Lee Ryan has teased his character Woody’s upcoming confrontation with Mick Carter, hinting at some memorable moments between him and actor Danny Dyer.

“He’s a lad. I love Danny. He’s so great and I was really looking forward to working with him,” Ryan told This Morning. “We’ve got some great scenes. There was only a short time that we got to act with each other – but I can’t say too much because I’m not allowed.”

All of which suggests that Woody won’t be sticking around for long in the wake of Dyer’s comeback to the soap following a leave of absence.

Ryan’s words come following reports of a punch-up on the Square between Mick and Woody when the Queen Vic landlord makes his return.

Despite rumours of fisticuffs, the actor and Blue singer was at pains to point out Woody is not a villainous character, despite the hostility set to be thrown his way by the Carters: “He’s not really a bad boy,” he insisted. “He’s more sensitive and you’ll see that he just wants to be liked.”
