EastEnders: Ben and Jay are attacked in shock cliffhanger – here’s what happens next!

Find out how the drama unfolds when the BBC1 soap returns on Monday

Argh – EastEnders, you can’t leave us until Monday on that kind of cliffhanger! Yes, it’s going to be a long weekend for fans of the BBC1 soap, who were left on tenterhooks this evening after Jay and Ben were attacked by Paul Coker’s killers.

Viewers had already witnessed the men responsible for Paul’s death tracking the Mitchells back to Albert Square. But Jay and Ben were both caught unawares tonight when the thugs rang the doorbell at 55 Victoria Road and set about beating them up.

As the assault was carried out in the kitchen downstairs, Phil – who was upstairs talking to both Louise and Courtney – told the girls to stay in the bedroom before he rushed to help Ben and Jay.

But a frightened Courtney was then seen calling dad Grant for help – a move that will result in the return of actor Ross Kemp to the show in scenes to be broadcast next week.

Monday’s episode of EastEnders will see Ben and Jay bundled into a van and driven away as all hell breaks loose for the Mitchell clan.

Once Grant arrives on the scene, he and Phil take off in pursuit of the vehicle. But when Phil collapses, Grant is forced to step in and take control. Will he be able to get Ben and Jay home safely? And will the secret about him being Mark’s dad end up coming out too?
