A bloodied and bruised Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) is to be rescued by Aunt Babe (Annette Badland) after she’s attacked by girlfriend Tosh (Rebecca Scroggs). But will Tina end up going back once again to her abusive partner?
“Tina would struggle to walk away, even though the situation is getting worse,” says actress Luisa Bradshaw-White. “In the past, they’d fight and then make up, but there’d also be some lovely times as well. They’d have fun together. But now that all seems to be going. Tina is scared of Tosh.”
The attack happens after Tosh grows increasingly concerned about Tina’s growing closeness to Sonia (Natalie Cassidy). In a bid to scupper things, Tosh announces that she’s put in for a transfer at work and wants her and Tina to move to Croydon.
But when Tosh later spies Tina hugging Sonia, she assumes that something is going on between them and lashes out. Outside, Aunt Babe is watching the house and rushes over when she hears screams, struggling to open the door until a traumatised Tina appears.
The next day, the rest of the Carters are disgusted by what has happened to Tina. Tina, meanwhile. is ignoring Tosh’s constant messages.
When Tosh arrives at the Vic, a protective Shirley (Linda Henry) launches herself on Tina’s abuser. But, upon hearing the commotion, Tina comes down and asks to speak to Tosh alone, leaving Shirley worried that Tina will forgive and forget. But what will Tina decide?
