Oscar Isaac stars as the multifaceted Marvel Comics hero
There's a unique new superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Disney Plus series Moon Knight concluded its first (and only?) run on Wednesday 4th May 2022.
Star Wars franchise star Oscar Isaac was leading the Moon Knight cast throughout the series as museum gift shop employee Steven Grant, who discovers that he has multiple personas existing in one body.
As well as being the mercenary named Marc Spector, the character. can also transform into the hero known as Moon Knight.
As the hero navigates his life having Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Marc/Steven finds various enemies converging on them as they become a warrior and an avatar for the Egyptian deity known as Khonshu.

Now, with the new Disney Plus series continuing in earnest, many will be wondering just how many episodes of the series will be released.
Here is everything you need to know about Moon Knight's episode count and release schedule.

How many episodes are in Moon Knight?
Marvel Studios series Moon Knight will consist of six episodes.
The episodes run between 30 and 55 minutes.
This matches the length of previous live-action Marvel Studios series on Disney Plus such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Hawkeye.
WandaVision, which was the first Marvel series on Disney Plus, instead consisted of nine episodes.
When is Moon Knight episode 6 released?
Moon Knight episode 6 was released on Wednesday 4th May 2022 at 8am BST.
The episode, titled Gods and Monsters, ran for 43 minutes.
The instalment will be the sixth of six episodes in the series and is the finale of the show.

Moon Knight will release new episodes every Wednesday morning at 8am BST on Disney Plus.
The following dates are the releases of each episode.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe series will be followed by the teen superheroine series Ms Marvel, which is due the month after Moon Knight concludes on Disney Plus.
Moon Knight episode 1 recap - The Goldfish Problem
The series begins with Arthur Harrow smashing a glass with an anvil before putting the shards in his shoes and walking on the glass.
The first episode introduced us to a British Museum gift shop worker named Steven Grant who begins experiencing strange blackouts.
One night he sleeps at home in London and then wakes up in the Austrian Alps and witnesses Harrow deliver teachings to his cult of followers.
Harrow demands a golden scarab from Steven, who is nearly killed in a dramatic car chase which also sees him briefly blackout and apparently delivers violence to his pursuers.
Grant wakes up at home and soon realises from a disastrous attempt at a date that he has lost two days' worth of time and is disturbed by visions of a strange creature.
He also finds a mobile phone with a flurry of missed calls from a woman named Layla, who he calls and refers to him as Marc.
At the museum the next day, Steven is confronted by Harrow who describes himself as a servant of the Egyptian god known as Ammit, who tips the scales to decide whether a person is good enough to live.
Later, Harrow summons a jackal monster to attack Steven who tries to escape before communing with his Marc persona who agrees to take over and fight the creature.
Marc takes over and then transforms into the caped and masked hero Moon Knight who defeats the creature.
Moon Knight episode 2 recap - Summon the Suit
Steven Grant awakens in his home and is uncertain about what happened, heading to work he discovers the extent of the damage to the museum and is blamed for it as he is the only person seen on the security cameras. Steven is fired.
He later comes across a key card that leads him to a storage facility with a large number of weapons, prompting Steven to be confronted by his reflection who reveals that there is another personality in his body - Marc Spector, a mercenary who is the avatar of the Egyptian god known as Khonshu.
Marc tries to get Steven to let him control their body but is refused. Steven is then confronted by the mysterious Layla, a woman who is actually Marc's wife and had no idea of the existence of his other personality.
The pair discuss what has happened in Steven's home when he is arrested by police officers who are later shown to be servants of Arthur Harrow.
As the pair talk, Harrow reveals that he was once the avatar of Khonshu before renouncing the god and following his enemy, Ammit.
Harrow now hopes to use the scarab to find Ammit's tomb and resurrect the god to wipe out all of the humans who have and will ever commit evil.
Layla comes to save Grant and the pair make an escape but Harrow sends another jackal after them, which prompts Steven to summon his own masked and suited persona - Mr Knight.
After the jackal begins defeating Mr Knight, Steven allows Marc to take control to defeat their enemy.
However, during the chaos, the scarab ends up out of Marc's hands and in the hands of Harrow.
Afterwards, Khonshu chastises Marc who swears to get to Ammit's tomb before Harrow.
Khonshu warns Marc not to fail because he will use Layla as his avatar instead. Marc then heads to Egypt.
Moon Knight episode 3 recap - The Friendly Type
Arthur Harrow and his cult are in the desert when they finally find the tomb of Ammit.
Meanwhile, in Cairo, Egypt, Marc Spector and Steven Grant deal with blackouts as they encounter enemies on their way to track down Harrow.
As the mission to find Harrow proves fruitless, Khonshu visits the Great Pyramid of Giza to call a council with various Egyptian gods and their avatars.
However, Harrow also appears at the council and denies what Khonshu is saying.
Yatzil, the avatar of the god Hathor, decides to order Marc Spector to track down a sarcophagus that should help in finding the tomb of Ammit.
Marc is soon reunited with his wife Layla who helps him track down the sarcophagus, which brings them to an old acquaintance of hers, Anton Mogart.
During the visit, Harrow himself arrives and uses his power to destroy the sarcophagus.
Moon Knight and Layla are then forced to fight with Mogart's men before making their escape.
Grant then uses his knowledge to create a star map out of pieces of the destroyed sarcophagus, but the map is too old to be useful to them.
Despite being aware that he will incur the wrath of his fellow gods, Khonshu uses his power to turn the night sky back to the night in which they can use the map to find Ammit's tomb.
While the group is successful in learning where Ammit's tomb is, the gods imprison Khonshu and leave Spector/Grant without their powers.
Moon Knight episode 4 recap - The Tomb
Marc/Steven and Layla continue their adventure in the desert and are forced to try and escape the henchmen of Harrow into the desert.
Marc and Steven argue about their deal that once Khonshu is gone, Marc will give up the body for Steven, which upsets Layla as Marc is her husband.
The group come across Harrow's camp in front of the tomb and see bloody fights have taken place. The trio head down into the tomb and Steven grows closer to Layla, explaining Marc's actions and the pair nearly have a kiss. Layla mentions how her father had looked for the tomb too and lost his life for it.
They find that the tomb is like a maze shaped like the Eye of Horus, with six points, the six points representing the mind and the six senses.
Steven reads hieroglyphics and realises that Ammit is captured in a statue similar to how Khonshu currently is.
However, the pair soon find themselves faced with dangers from Harrow's henchmen and revived mummies. After fighting off various enemies, Steven finds the long-lost tomb of Alexander the Great.
Despite no statue of Ammit being inside, Steven realises that Alexander was the voice of Ammit and pulls the statue from Alexander's mummified throat.
Meanwhile, Layla is confronted by Harrow who reveals that Marc was one of the mercenaries who murdered her archaeologist father.
As they prepare to leave, Layla demands the truth from Marc who takes over his body and admits he witnessed the murder of her father by his mercenary partner. Marc says he was also supposed to die but did not.
As Layla tries to find a way out, Harrow and his henchmen enter Alexander's tomb and Harrow realises that Khonshu is gone and confronts Marc/Steven, shooting them in the chest. Marc/Steven's body falls into the water around Alexander's tomb and sinks further before being enveloped in white light.
We then are shown a sanitorium, where Marc awakens and we see various characters from throughout the series as patients in the sanitorium. Marc calls out for Steven in his reflection but gets nothing. Various clues and signs from the previous episodes are visible.
Marc is taken to his psychiatrist - who is a clean-cut Harrow - who explains that Marc is struggling to differentiate between reality and the imagined. Marc notes that he sees reminders of his other life everywhere.
Marc tries to escape and runs to a room resembling Alexander's tomb and realises Steven is inside the sarcophagus and tries to free him.
The pair escape and run by another sarcophagus that is shaking with someone inside.
As they make their escape, Marc and Steven are confronted by the hippo-resembling Egyptian goddess Taweret who says an enthusiastic "Hi!".
Moon Knight episode 5 recap - Asylum
Cutting between two situations - one in the office of Dr Harrow and one in the halls - we see Steven explain to Marc that the hippo-resembling Egyptian goddess is Taweret.
The goddess reveals that the pair are dead and this hospital they are in is a boat sailing through the Duat.
Weighing the pair's hearts on the Scales of Justice, Taweret advises Marc and Steven to uncover their pasts to bring balance to their hearts and allow them to cross over into the paradise known as the Field of Reeds.
Steven experiences memories of Marc's past, which shows Marc devastated to lose his younger brother Randall when he drowns.
In the aftermath, Marc's mother blamed him for the loss of Randall's life.
Marc then goes on to detail to Steven how he became the avatar of Khonshu, having joined his fellow mercenary Raoul Bushman on a mission in Egypt.
The pair then explain to Taweret how they need to return to the land of the living to defeat Arthur Harrow and save the world, prompting her to steer them to the Gates of Osiris.
Meanwhile, in the asylum, Dr. Harrow tells Marc that he has to fully open up to Grant, prompting Marc to reveal that he unknowingly created Grant as a result of their mother's abuse.
The scales of the pair fail to balance, prompting them to be attacked by evil spirits. As a result, Steven is seemingly killed when he is consumed by the Duat. After the scales are then balanced, Marc awakens in the Field of Reeds.
Moon Knight episode 6 - Gods and Monsters
The finale begins with Arthur Harrow finally freeing Ammit before going on to murder all of the avatars of other Egyptian gods.
The Egyptian goddess Taweret warns Layla to find Khonshu's ushabti to resurrect Marc Spector.
Layla succeeds and frees Khonshu who battles with Ammit but finds himself defeated by his rival.
Elsewhere, Marc is in the Field of Reeds but refuses to stay there and heads back out into the Duat to save his other personality, Steven Grant, and succeeds with the help of Taweret, who helps him reach the Gates of Osiris.
As the pair return to the land of the living, Khonshu possesses the pair once more and once again gains superpowers.
Layla then discovers that multiple gods can imprison Ammit in a dying avatar and bonds herself with Taweret, becoming the superheroine Scarlet Scarab.
With her aid, the group take on Ammit before blacking out and awakening to finding that Harrow has been defeated in battle.
Marc and Layla then imprison Ammit in Harrow's body but despite Khonshu telling them to kill Harrow, the pair refuse.
Steven and Marc then ask Khonshu to release them from his service and he appears to agree.
The pair briefly return to the "hospital" but choose to carry on life together and return to a similar situation at the start of the series.
In an end credits scene, Arthur Harrow is kidnapped and awakens in a limo where Khonshu reveals he is still in Spector/Grant's body with cooperation from their third personality, Jake Lockley, who proceeds to execute Harrow on Khonshu's orders.

Who appears in Moon Knight?
In addition to Oscar Isaac, who portrays Moon Knight/Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Mr Knight/Jake Lockley, the main cast also features May Calamawy as Marc's wife and archaeologist Scarlet Scarab/Layla El-Faouly.
Elsewhere, Karim El Hakim portrays the physical form of the deity Khonshu, while F. Murray Abraham provides the voice to the imperious Egyptian god.
Ann Akinjirin and David Ganly also put in appearances as Bobbi Kennedy and Billy Fitzgerald, respectively.
Finally, Ethan Hawke portrays the series' chief antagonist and a zealous cult leader, Arthur Harrow.
Later in the run, fans can also expect the late French actor Gaspard Ulliel to debut as antique collector Anton Mogart aka Midnight Man.
Will there be more episodes of Moon Knight?
At present, there are no further episodes planned for Moon Knight and no second season is confirmed.
However, the cast has made clear that they would return for further adventures if the story was right.
Oscar Isaac told RadioTimes.com: "You know, I think we approached it as ‘this is the story’. “And let's just put everything out on the table on this story. There’s definitely no official plans to continue it. I think it would depend on what the story is."

The character is expected to crossover into Marvel Cinematic Universe films following the series, but fans shall have to wait and see if and how this would manifest.
