We’ve not heard a peep from the new Veronica Mars movie since July. But your patience has been rewarded, marshmallows.
A new featurette trailer for the much-anticipated kickstarter funded movie has been released and it tells us a lot about what we can expect from our much-anticipated return to the world of V Mars. Here’s what we know so far…
1. Ten years have passed
It’s only been six years since Veronica last graced our screens, but time moves differently in TV land. The V Mars movie meets up with the bad-ass teen PI ten years after we saw her last. And things have changed…
2. Veronica is a hot-shot lawyer now
Forget petty small-town crime and high school squabbles, Veronica is a fancy lawyer living in New York now. It’s all about the deskjob, the 9 to 5. She’s left all those late night stake-outs, creeping around and spying on people behind. Well, she had. Until this happened…
3. Logan is on trial for murder
Can that boy never keep out of trouble? In the film’s opening minutes Logan Echols is thrust back onto Veronica’s radar when she sees that he’s been charged with, you guessed it… murder. Her ex-boyfriend is soon on the phone asking her for help. And that’s when V decides it’s time to get out all her private detective clobber, head back to Neptune and start investigating, Mars-style.
4. It’s still Piz vs Logan
Ten years might have passed, but it seems Veronica STILL can’t quite decide between nice guy Stosh Piznarski and bad boy Logan. Veronica’s settled and living with Piz in NYC, but the pull of her badly behaved former flame still proves enough to make her drop tools and head home.
Whether she’ll stay with Piz or fall back into the arms of Logan remains to be seen. Time to pick a team, people!
5. Everyone is back
Tina Majorino as Mac, Percy Daggs III as Wallace, Max Greenfield as Leo, Ken Marino as Vinnie Van Lowe, Ryan Hansan as Dick, Krysten Ritter as Gia Goodman, Francis Capra as Weevil, Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars, Daran Norris as Cliff McCormack… The list goes on.
6. Well, not everyone…
Leighton Meester’s Carrie Bishop is being played by Andrea Estella instead. And we are getting some new faces too: Jamie Lee Curtis (above), Justin Long and James Franco (probably).
6. Weevil is married
Yep. That’s happened.
7. Dick is still a…
Some things never change.
