Taskmaster

Once again we get a set of fairly hopeless tasks (throwing things over a fence into a bin marks a new low) and half-baked responses to them, but it’s still one of the funniest episodes this series has produced.

A high point is James Acaster’s furious rant at Rhod Gilbert after they’ve fallen out on a challenge that involved building an extension to the Taskmaster House. “I don’t know how you’ve been friends with him for so long!” Acaster raves at Greg Davies.

The comic energy is at such a pitch that at one stage a panellist briefly risks life and limb (well, limb anyway) in what could have been a series-ending accident. All this, guacamole, a trouserless Steve Austin and “a gravel-voiced gimp”.
