OK, Karen Gillan and Matt Smith have gone on to even bigger and better things since leaving Doctor Who. Smith is now royalty in The Crown, while Gillan is starring in her second Marvel Blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. What’s more, she moved over to L.A. to pursue her Hollywood career after being cast in horror film Oculus back in 2014.
“I’ve never understood the fear that people have towards moving to new cities, I don’t have that emotion in my range,” she explained in our interview, “maybe being from Inverness and having to move to be able to really pursue a career, that’s what has equipped me for it.”
Yet Smith and Gillan still see a lot of each other. A whole lot.
“But I do see him when he comes over,” she explained, “because he stays in my house and we have a proper catch up.”
