We were already excited about Marvel’s Jessica Jones – a Netflix original following a cynical former superhero now working as a private detective – but after seeing this exclusive poster and key art for David Tennant’s villain, we can’t wait to watch. It’s almost a compulsion…
A world away from his turn in Doctor Who, Tennant plays the reprehensible Kilgrave, a man able to make anyone do anything he desires. (He also loves dressing in purple clothes, which is almost as bad.) Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Kilgrave have a dark history together, which the gumshoe is anxious to move past.
As the creepy trailer proved, Kilgrave isn’t.
Ritter and Tennant are joined by Mike Colter (playing Luke Cage, another superpowered New Yorker) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix). Marvel’s Jessica Jones is the second of four Marvel Universe shows coming to Netflix. Daredevil was released earlier this year and Luke Cage will soon star in his own programme. After the release of the martial arts themed Marvel’s Iron Fist, all four characters will join together in The Defenders, also on Netflix.
It’s a bit like the heroes teaming up for The Avengers, but with swearing, violence and this purple pervert.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones is released on Netflix worldwide on November 20th at 7.01am GMT
