The Friends and Cake actor talks about missing out on the Oscars

Amongst all the talk about who missed out on an Oscars nomination, at least one snubbed star is looking on the bright side.

“I’m the number one snubbed!” Jennifer Aniston said on US chat show Ellen, speaking for the first time after not appearing on the Best Actress shortlist for her starring role in Cake, about a car crash survivor struggling with chronic pain and a drug addiction.

“That’s the silver lining,” she said, adding that she was surprised at the praise the film had earned already given that it was not out in cinemas yet.

“It hasn’t even come out! That’s the crazy thing – we’re so shocked and amazed that we have had this much love at all for a movie that hasn’t even been released yet.”

The film will be released in the USA from 23 January, and in UK cinemas from 20 February. Even though she missed out on an Oscar, she was nominated for a Golden Globe.

The trailer shows just how far her performance has come from her carefree Central Park days, but judging by her reaction she doesn’t seem to mind that she doesn’t have too many Friends on the Oscars’ judging panel.
