Sarah Jessica Parker on Sex and the City 3: “there is one last chapter to tell”

The 48-year-old actress - who played Carrie Bradshaw in the hit US series - has added to speculation she will reunite with Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall for one final film

Pour yourself a cosmopolitan to toast the big BIG news that there might just be a third Sex and the City film…

Sarah Jessica Parker – who played the style savvy Carrie Bradshaw in the hit US series – has teased the idea of a follow-up to 2010’s silver screen sequel just weeks after Kristin Davis admitted the “exciting” idea of a third movie wasn’t just a “pipe dream”.

Speaking to InStyle magazine, SJP ruminated on Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda’s final reunion: “A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell,” she teased, before adding, “but timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait for ever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!” We’re struggling to imagine Carrie sporting one…

While Davis shares her enthusiasm for the project, not all of the Sex and the City stars are as easily convinced by the project with Cynthia Nixon – who played feisty lawyer Miranda Hobbes – recently dismissing the idea of a third movie, stating “I think it’s fine to let it go”.

But before you start sobbing into your Prada handbag, thank your lucky stars for Kristin Davis: “I’m going to have a little talk with Cynthia the next time I see her!”

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series, set in New York City and following the lives of the glamorous foursome, ran for six series from 1998 to 2004 before transferring to cinemas for two movies in 2008 and 2010, the latter receiving a slew of poor reviews.
