Hawes and Highmore play mother and son in the new Prime Video thriller series.
New Prime Video thriller series The Assassin is now available to stream in full, and it sees Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore play an estranged mother and son, Julie and Edward.
The series, which comes from writers Harry and Jack Williams, sees the duo having to go on the run, after Julie's past as a professional assassin catches up with her.
Also appearing in key roles throughout the series are the likes of Gina Gershon and Shalom Brune-Franklin, but who else stars and who do they all play?

Keeley Hawes plays Julie
Who is Julie? Julie is a retired assassin who has has been living on a remote Greek island for the past 10 years. She is estranged from her son, Edward, who doesn't know about her past. When danger comes knocking at the door as Edward is visiting, the two of them must go on the run.

Who is Edward? Edward is Julie's son, and an investigative journalist working in London. He doesn't know who his father is or was, and is estranged from his mother. However, he arrives in Greece to tell her that he’s just gotten engaged, and to ask about a large trust fund to which he has mysteriously become sole beneficiary.

Gina Gershon plays Marie
Who is Marie? Marie is a mysterious character who loves manga and graphic novels, and who is driven by deep-rooted anger. Her motivations become clearer as we move through the series.

Shalom Brune-Franklin plays Kayla
Who is Kayla? Kayla is the daughter of Aaron Cross, and is keen to be a force for good in his mining conglomerate.

Who is Aaron? Aaron Cross is the billionaire chairman of Cross Global Mining, who runs his family the same ruthless way he runs his business.
