X-Files stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny sing – and snog – on stage in New York

The co-stars delighted fans by sharing not one but TWO kisses during a duet of Neil Young's Helpless in New York last night

X-Files fans, besides a brand new series (which is happening, by the way), what one thing do you wish for most? The rekindling of that Mulder/Scully romance, right? Well, it’s (sort of) happened.

David Duchovny made an appearance at The Cutting Room in New York last night to promote his new folk-rock album Hell or Highwater (yeah, he’s also a singer now) where he asked his X-Files co-star to join him on stage for a duet of Neil Young’s Helpless.

The X-Files – which counted Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan among its writing team – originally ran for nine seasons on Fox between 1993 and 2002, with two silver screen projects released in 1998 and 2008.

News first broke back in March of the show’s eagerly-anticipated return to TV with six new episodes to air on Fox. Creator Chris Carter will oversee the new material with both Duchovny and Anderson – who joined in fan campaigning for its return – reprising their roles as the FBI agents combatting extra-terrestrial activities.

The X-Files’ return will debut in the States on Sunday 24th January 2016 with no news yet on when the UK will get their hands on new episodes. At least in the meantime, we have this…
