Helena Bonham Carter and Rebecca Hall are set to bring their star credentials to the cast of Steve McQueen’s Codes of Conduct.
The duo will join newcomer Devon Terrell and Paul Dano – who starred in McQueen’s Oscar-winning film 12 Years a Slave – in the HBO pilot.
Codes of Conduct follows a young African-American man called Beverly Snow (Terrell) as he climbs his way to the top of New York’s high society.
Bonham Carter will play Esther Kaufmann, a rebellious, divorced author and psychiatrist from a prominent Jewish family in Manhattan; while Parade’s End star Hall will take on the role of smart and ruthless heiress Rebecca Rotmensen, the eldest child of a New York billionaire and Snow’s rival.
McQueen co-wrote and will executive-produce the project alongside World War Z’s Matthew Michael Carnahan. Codes of Conduct will be the 12 Years a Slave director’s first foray into television.
