Atlantis is back on BBC1 this weekend and fans should steel themselves: things just got serious. The second series is “a lot, lot darker”, as the cast explained to RadioTimes.com when we paid a visit to the show’s set in Chepstow earlier this year.
Hidden within an enormous warehouse just across the Severn Bridge is the mythical land of Atlantis – recreated in extraordinary detail, made by the creators of Merlin and starring Jack Donnelly, Robert Emms and Mark Addy as heroic trio Jason, Pythagoras and Hercules.
Series two sees Ariadne (Aiysha Hart) on the throne following the death of her father, but all is not well because her evil stepmother Pasiphae (Sarah Parish) is waging war on the beleaguered city.
In the words of Robert Emms, “Jason, Hercules and Pythagoras have to save the day. Obviously.”
Atlantis series two begins on Saturday 15th November at 8:30pm on BBC1
