The cast of Gone Girl – the David Fincher adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s bestseller – has grown in numbers overnight, with a string of acting talent set to join stars Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck.
How I Met Your Mother’s Neil Patrick Harris is officially on board to play Desi Collings, the simpering ex-boyfriend of the novel’s protagonist Amy Dunne (Pike) who mysteriously vanishes from the suburban home she shares with her husband, Nick (Affleck).
Former journalist Nick soon finds himself the prime suspect for her murder and is investigated by two detectives Boney and Gilpin who will be played Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit. Carrie Coon will portray Margo – Nick’s twin sister and his business partner after the pair move back to their hometown and run a local bar together.
Playing the role of Nick’s hotshot attorney, Tanner Bolt, is Tyler Perry whom Fincher cast after seeing him in 2012 flick Alex Cross, according to Deadline.
Produced by Reese Witherspoon’s prodcution company, shooting on the movie begins next month with Gone Girl expected to reach cinemas in 2015.
