Sherlock series 3: Benedict Cumberbatch tells paparazzi ‘Go photograph Egypt’

On the set of the detective drama, the irritated actor held up a sign telling photographers to “show the world something important”

Benedict Cumberbatch has further cemented his image as the thinking person’s celebrity pin-up after telling paparazzi on the set of Sherlock to turn their attention to the civil war in Egypt rather than trying to snap him filming the detective drama.

Bundled up in a hooded coat and sunglasses, the actor held up a sign saying “Go photograph Egypt and show the world something important.”

Cumberbatch and co-stars including Martin Freeman and Amanda Abbington were on set in Cardiff shooting the final episode of series three, which is expected to air on BBC1 around the end of the year.
