Steven Moffat on Sherlock series 4: ”If everyone wants to do it there will be one”

And the series co-creator says Benedict Cumberbatch's revelation that he had signed up came as something of a surprise

Remember in March when Benedict Cumberbatch let slip that he was up for a fourth series of Sherlock? Of course you do – we all recall exactly where we were and what we were doing at that historic moment, right?


Well, Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat says the news was as much of a surprise to him as it was to us.

“We were all in a state of shock at BBC drama,” Moffat told us when we chatted to him on a rather drizzly red carpet at last night’s Bafta TV Awards.

But don’t worry, he’s as enthusiastic about the prospect as we are. “If everyone wants to do it there will be a fourth [series]” he said.
