Laurence Fishburne and Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal – extended trailer

Watch a two-minute teaser for the upcoming US crime drama, which teams Hannibal Lecter with a young FBI criminal profiler

Viewers can get an extended look at Hannibal, the upcoming US crime drama starring Mads Mikkelsen and Laurence Fishburne, in a brand new two-minute long trailer.

Based on characters created by Thomas Harris in his novel Red Dragon, Hannibal explores the budding relationship between the genius psychopath Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mikkelsen) and a young FBI criminal profiler named Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).

The teaser does a good job of setting up the plot of the series and suggests that the show’s character ineractions are going to make hugely entertaining viewing:

Fishburne stars in the drama as the head of the FBI’s behavioural sciences unit, and Hannibal will also feature guest appearances from Gillian Anderson as Lecter’s therapist and Eddie Izzard as an inmate at an insane asylum.

In the series, Graham is faced with a case he can’t crack and turns to Lecter in an attempt to better understand the criminal mind. But while the breakthroughs keep coming, little does Graham suspect that the man he’s looking for might just be the doctor himself.

Hannibal is set to debut on NBC in the US on Thursday 4 April and will begin airing in Britain on Sky Living shortly after its stateside premiere.
