Rating: 3 out of 5.

A high-school crush turns into adult obsession in this intriguing psychological thriller from Spanish director Carles Torrens (Apartment 143). Dominic Monaghan convinces as socially awkward nobody Seth, whose chance encounter with old acquaintance Holly (Ksenia Solo) swiftly moves from stalking to abduction and incarceration in a DIY prison constructed in the bowels of the dog pound where he works. This taut little chiller is firmly in the mould, if not quite the class, of William Wyler's The Collector (1965), in which a battle of wills between captor and captive then takes centre stage. However, by the time Seth realises he may have bitten off more than he can chew with a prisoner who's no shrinking violet, their shifting power game has taken a twisted and grisly diversion.
