Misconduct

This twisty legal thriller features two Hollywood legends in the form of Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins. Importantly, though, neither gets a huge amount of screen time. Instead, the lead role belongs to Josh Duhamel (from the Transformers franchise), who plays rising lawyer Ben Cahill. Working for a firm that demands success, Ben regularly breaks the law in order to win cases, and his career is flourishing as a result. However, this changes when he's contacted by ex-girlfriend Emily (Malin Akerman), who supplies him with information that incriminates Arthur Denning (Hopkins), the billionaire CEO of a leading pharmaceutical company. After Ben presents the evidence to his boss (Pacino), the film serves up a series of twists and turns, some of which aren't entirely convincing. The story proves intriguing for an hour or so, but then becomes a tad predictable. Not a top-grade thriller, then, but there's still enough star power here to keep things watchable.
