Summary
Murdoch investigates an explosion at a suffrage rally, a death at an investment event leads Crabtree to the father he never knew, and Murdoch's camping adventure goes awry.
Murdoch investigates an explosion at a suffrage rally, a death at an investment event leads Crabtree to the father he never knew, and Murdoch's camping adventure goes awry.
Constable George Crabtree should be hoping that this much-discussed book he’s writing becomes a bestseller, because he certainly isn’t getting any kind of praise for his police work. Within the first few minutes, he’s let a key murder suspect slip through his grasp and it’s left to Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) to trace the trail back to some dastardly deeds down by the docks.
Pretty soon, he’s uncovered some possible corruption and very definite prejudice, while also getting good use of his cutting-edge portable camera, the Ensignette, that wife Julia has bought for him. So cutting edge, in fact, that, by my reckoning, he’s using it a full two years before it came onto the market.
