When is the Diablo 4 Season 3 release date?

Season of the Construct will release on 23rd January 2024, it's been confirmed.

More specifically, Season 3 will start at 6pm GMT on that date.

Season 2 is set to come to an end on 23rd January 2024, so it makes sense that Season 3’s start date won’t be too far behind.

There’s bound to be some server downtime to install the new update, but we’ll be playing through Diablo 4 Season 3 on the same day Season 2 comes to a close.

What will Diablo 4 Season 3 entail?

As far as the story goes, an ancient technology - created by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan of Caldeum - known as the Loom has been usurped by the demon Malphas.

Teaming up with Zoltun’s former companion, Ayuzhan, we must put a stop to this new terror unleashed by Malphas.

A new town centre called Gatehall will be our base of operations in this new battle against evil, and we'll get out own Seneschal Companion (customised by us with Governing and Tuning Stones to suit our playstyle) to fight by our side.

We can expect a new type of dungeon called a Vault (or a Nightmare Vault at World Tier III), full of new enemies known as The Constructs.

Pearls of Warding can be converted upon entering these new dungeons, and we're blessed by Zoltun’s Warding. This gives us access to all the treasures within. And we'll be able to collect more Pearls of Warding by destroying Elite Constructs during Arcane Tremors in the overworld.

Diablo 4 Season 3: Helltides

Thanks to the positive reaction to the Blood Harvest events during Season 2, Helltides are being reworked in Diablo 4 Season 3.

Helltide events will last for 55 minutes every hour, with five minutes of downtime between each event. This upgrade should make it far easier to farm items dropped during the events.

Diablo 4 Season 3: The Gauntlet

Also revealed to play a major role in Season 3 of Diablo 4 is The Gauntlet.

The Gauntlet is essentially a new and upgraded version of the Challenge Rifts activities from Diablo 3.

In The Gauntlet, your goal will be to slaughter all enemies in a non-linear dungeon as fast as possible.

Leaderboards will show the world how fast you clear the weekly event. If you manage to complete the weekly Gauntlet quick enough, you will end up in the Hall of the Ancients – your completion time and character permanently recognised in-game.

The Gauntlet will be endgame content.

Diablo 4 Season 3: Other Updates

We'll also be getting an extra stash stab, improved skill tree mechanics and UI when trading Gold, and increased rates to earn summon items for the Beast in the Ice.

Another change that we know is incoming is an update on how itemisation works, although it sounds like the major changes on that front will be coming in Season 4.
