“Gasps, cheers and a standing ovation” – what audiences thought of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

The new play began its preview run last night, and people thought it was absolutely magical

Tuesday night marked the first preview of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the theatrical follow-up to JK Rowling’s wizarding novels that brings back an adult Harry, Ron and Hermione and introduces their children in a mysterious story that we still know very little about.

Still, after the initial performance we do know one thing – people absolutely love it.

Like, REALLY love it.

In fact, some people’s love might be reaching dangerous levels.

We probably shouldn’t be surprised, of course – people were pretty hyped about the play before it even began.

Of course, as a play in its preview stages it’s not quite a polished product yet.

But when it looks as good as this, we’re willing to let that slide.

All in all, it was a great reaction. And we’re betting there’s one person in particular who’s very happy with the feedback – just so long as we all keep the plot to ourselves, of course…

Don’t worry, JK – we’re sure your secrets are safe in the hands of your fans.
