Appearing on Sky Atlantic’s Game of Thrones discussion programme Thronecast last night, the actor who plays Davos Seaworth was asked by host Sue Perkins whether any upcoming storylines were more shocking than series three’s infamous Red Wedding episode, to which he replied “I would think so, yes.”

“It’s towards the end of the season, and when I got the scripts, when I got to this particular section, I went: ‘You’ve gotta be kidding me.’”

The Red Wedding, which *SPOILER ALERT* saw Richard Madden’s Robb Stark butchered on the day of his uncle’s marriage alongside his friends and family, caused shock to fans worldwide – so what could possibly top it? Whatever happens, it sounds like we’ll be seeing plenty more gory action from Game of Thrones in the near future, so don’t get too attached to your favourite characters…

But the revelations weren’t over – later in the night, Cunningham’s fellow panel member Dermot O’Leary shared a secret of his own, and it’s one we here at RadioTimes.com can wholeheartedly get behind.

“We took – there’s a challenge online, that I did this morning – it’s on Radio Times, and it gives you ten or so questions and it tells you what character you’d be in Game of Thrones,” the recently departed X Factor host said.

“I did it this morning, and I kind of answered truthfully but I kind of answered thinking, ‘I’m going to be John Snow or Tyrion,’ giving those sort of answers.”

“And then…I’m Melisandre.”

Cunningham added: “I’ve just done it now in the [advert] break – I’m Bronn!”

What can we say, Dermot – we’re always happy to help you find your inner red priestess…
