Tatau – what did you think?

BBC3's Cook Islands-set drama begins tonight with a sacred Maori ritual that takes a sinister turn...

BBC3 has an impressive track record when it comes to drama – especially the supernatural kind.

Being Human (which starred Russell Tovey and Aidan Turner, who has recently induced many a sofa swoon in Poldark over on BBC1), ran for five series and spawned an American remake. The Fades and In The Flesh both bagged best drama Baftas, and over 20,000 fans campaigned for a third series when the latter was cancelled earlier this year.

Tatau will be the last BBC3 drama to be shown on television if the BBC Trust approves plans to move BBC4’s younger sibling online. Cost-cutting also means there’ll only be one BBC3 drama a year from now on. So what did you think?

Is Tatau the new In The Flesh? Did you warm to British backpacker Kyle and his best mate Budgie, and the Cook Islands setting? Were you intrigued by the sinister twist? And more importantly, will you be tuning in for the second episode?
