Game of Thrones season five has UK air date

The fantasy drama will air on Sky Atlantic on 13th April, a day after the US broadcast

Thank the old gods, the new gods, forest gods and all the other Game of Thrones gods, because Sky Atlantic has announced a return date for the hit fantasy drama in the UK.

The fifth series of HBO’s epic will begin in America on Monday, April 12th at 9pm and fans will be able to watch the show in the UK just 24 hours later on April 13th.

It looks like it’ll be worth the wait. Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, told earlier this month, “it [season five] was phenomenal this season. They’ve seriously overreached themselves.”

“They’ve built it in the right way – it could have got a lot sillier a lot earlier and it hasn’t. It’s progressed in the right way story-wise. It’s so brilliant this year.”

So, just 93 days to go until the wait is over. Now we just need to get through the long (but not as long as in Game of Thrones) winter…
