It’s set to be one of the biggest films of the year and the build-up to Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby is picking up steam with the release of a new poster featuring all of its principle cast members.
The latest artwork for the film – which is scheduled for release in the UK on 16 May – sees Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jay Gatsby take a central role, dressed in a tuxedo and flanked by Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton as Nick Carraway and Tom Buchanan.
The trio are joined by Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki who play glamorous Myrtle Wilson and Jordan Baker, set against the backdrop of Dr T J Eckleberg’s famous ocular advertising board.
Carey Mulligan’s Daisy Buchanan is placed seductively at the base of the artwork, wrapped in her furs and dripping in pearls in the art deco-themed poster.
The Great Gatsby has been adapted and directed by Luhrmann from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s much-loved 1920s novel following the wealthy upper classes during the American boom. Originally scheduled for a Christmas Day release, its postponement makes it one of the most anticipated films of 2013.
