Would you want to leave your wedding plans in the hands of Helen Flanagan? No? Well then, pity the poor couple who are going to have their nuptials managed by the I’m a Celebrity whinger later this year in the new series of Celebrity Wedding Planner.
Channel 5’s marriage-based reality show will return to TV for a fourth series in the summer and see three new celebrity couples making a hash of organising “the wedding of a lifetime”.
Flanagan, who rose to fame playing Rosie Webster on Coronation Street, will be reunited with her jungle-mate Hugo Taylor for one episode of the new series, and the show’s other stellar pairings will be comprised of Big Brother veterans Pete Burns and John McCririck and Geordie Shore’s Gaz Beadle and Charlotte Crosby.
Each celebrity pair will be given 21 days and £12,000 to organise weddings for brave ordinary couples, who’ll leave their big days in the hands of the celebs.
Celebrity Wedding Planner’s third series, which featured celebrity pairings from EastEnders, Celebrity Big Brother and TOWIE, proved a hit with viewers when it was broadcast in January. It averaged around 1.1m viewers per episode, and C5 assures viewers that the show’s fourth series will abound with “priceless TV moments” to delight CWP's fans.
"I’m delighted this series is proving to be so popular with our viewers,” said Greg Barnett, Channel 5’s Commissioning Editor for Entertainment, Daytime & Soaps. “The 4th series of Celebrity Wedding Planner promises some of our most controversial celebrity couples and more priceless TV moments you can’t afford to miss.”
