Don’t dust off your dancing shoes just yet; this is merely a warm up for the series proper, which starts in a fortnight. It is, however, a chance to check out new judge Darcey Bussell, and to see which professional is teamed with which celebrity (hopefully none will be as disappointed as Lulu was last year). Plus a glimpse of the stars that have two left feet.
Traditionally the contestants are only revealed a day or two before the launch but there have been some spectacular rumours. Among the “surely nots” are Noel Gallagher, Britain’s Got Talent winner Ashleigh Butler and Chris Evans.
More likely to be taking their place on the dance floor are Fern Britton, retired cricketer Michael Vaughan, Westlife’s Nicky Byrne and a smattering of Olympians.

Donning their dancing shoes are Olympic stars Victoria Pendleton and Louis Smith, former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, Westlife's Nicky Byrne, Daybreak's showbiz editor Richard Arnold, actress Dani Harmer, one-time children's TV host Johnny Ball, model Jerry Hall, actors Sid Owen (EastEnders' Ricky Butcher) and Colin Salmon, presenter Fern Britton, ex-Emmerdale star Lisa Riley, and actress and singer Denise Van Outen, who also take to the dance floor with a group number in front of the ever-critical Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and new judge Darcey Bussell, who brings a wealth of expertise to the panel.
