Channel 4’s long-running soap Hollyoaks never disappoints when it comes to bringing the drama and reeling in celebrity guest stars, with Loose Women’s Denise Welch recently joining the cast as dance teacher Trish.

However the series, which turned 25 last year, hasn’t stopped there: TV stars AJ and Curtis Pritchard are set to make their Hollyoaks debut later this year.

Ballroom brothers AJ and Curtis, who rose to fame for appearing on Strictly Come Dancing and Love Island respectively, will be joining the soap as guest stars in the next few months – but who will they be?

Here’s everything you need to know about the Hollyoaks cast.

AJ Pritchard

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ Pritchard

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard is set to arrive in the Chester-based village later this spring, guest-starring alongside his brother Curtis Pritchard.

While Hollyoaks hasn’t revealed much about the pair’s characters, we know that they’ll be arriving on the show as dance teacher Trish (Denise Welch) opens her brand-new dance school.

AJ revealed in an Instagram video on 8th February that he’d already filmed his first scenes for the show, while Curtis was yet to make his debut on the Hollyoaks set.

Speaking about joining the show, AJ said: “I can’t believe we will be featuring on Hollyoaks, we have grown up with the show on TV and it’s always been one of our favourite serial dramas. Our characters are fantastic, and we can’t wait for everyone to see how we bring them to life.”

Love Island 2019 star Curtis Pritchard is joining the cast of Hollyoaks as a guest star alongside his real-life brother AJ this spring.

While we don’t know much about their characters just yet, the duo will be playing twins who help open Trish’s dance school, according to Mail Online.

On joining the show, Curtis said: “I am so excited to be working with my brother AJ on a show we grew up watching!  I am also excited to continue our journey together with Channel 4 & E4.”

Kai Owen (Pete Buchanan)

Well, this will not be a return that will go down with many in the village as sexual abuser Pete is making an unwelcome return to the show later in the Spring and he is sure to be causing all kind of horrific problems for the locals- the McQueen family in particular.

Pete was sent to prison for his crimes in 2016 but he did make a brief 2018 return to the show. Now in 2021, he is coming back again as part of a mental health storyline that the Channel 4 soap is working on – and we suspect he does not have good things planned for those around him.
