Channel 4's long-running soap Hollyoaks never disappoints when it comes to bringing the drama and reeling in celebrity guest stars, with Loose Women's Denise Welch recently joining the cast as dance teacher Trish.

We also had some surprise brief additions to the cast with AJ and Curtis Pritchard, who rose to fame for appearing on Strictly Come Dancing and Love Island respectively, appearing in scenes last month - although given the response from fans to their guest roles we don't think they will be coming back.

While cast changes are a bit thin on the ground right now, we do know of two arrivals who fans of UK soaps are likely to recognise - and we have the return of an old face!

Here's everything you need to know about the Hollyoaks cast.

Emily Burnett (Olivia)

Best known for her role as Charlie in the popular CBBC series, Dumping Ground, Emily Burnett is making her way over to the 'Oaks and she will be on the arm of another well-known character who has not been seen for some time when she makes her arrival.

Chatting about landing the role, Burnett said: "I am so excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks. Especially working with Malique and Chelsee- and getting to (hopefully) be a member of the legendary McQueen family. What to expect from Olivia? Well, she's classy, very sassy and knows exactly what she wants. she is probably someone you don't want to get on the wrong side of- but I think she has a good heart deep down- especially when it comes to Prince. I can't wait for everyone to meet her in September."

Malique Thompson-Dwyer (Prince McQueen)

Get ready for the return of a Prince as Malique Thompson-Dwyer is reprising his role as a member of the McQueen family. He was last seen in the summer of 2019 having debuted in 2016 and he is due to make his reappearance on 7th September on E4 with Channel 4 airing it on the 8th.

Speaking about his upcoming return, Malique said: "I’m really excited to announce that I will be stepping back into Prince McQueen’s shoes and returning to Hollyoaks this summer. I’m looking forward to then seeing what Prince gets up to next and working with the production team again. Stay tuned!”

Kelly Condron (Zara Morgan)

Last seen all the way back in Christmas 2005, Kelly Condron (then Kelly Greenwood) is making her return to the Channel 4 soap as Zara Morgan in scenes set to air in the coming weeks and she will apparently be a bit of an eco-warrior when we see her again.

Speaking about her return, Kelly said: "When I was first approached by Hollyoaks to bring Zara back, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. I'm really excited to be back in the iconic village after such a long time and to work with the team playing a part in what's going to be such an important and relevant story."
